This data insight describes differences in gross domestic product (GDP) across the UK in 2023, with a focus on the Greater West of England. The Greater West of England is defined here as Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire, North Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire.
Using sub-national GDP estimates published by the Office for National Statistics (ONS), it presents total GDP, GDP per head and comparisons across UK regions, combined authority areas and local authorities. Figures are allocated to the area in which economic activity takes place and are presented at current prices.
