This data insight describes outcomes for young people aged 16 and 17 who are not in education, employment or training (NEET), or whose activity is not known, in the Greater West of England, defined here as Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, Gloucestershire, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Swindon and Wiltshire.
Using management information collected by local authorities through the National Client Caseload Information System (NCCIS), it presents NEET and activity not known rates by local authority, by age, and over time, with comparison to England excluding London.
Rates are expressed as proportions of the cohort and are based on an average of December, January and February data to provide an estimate around the end of the calendar year. Caution should be applied when comparing results across local authorities or over time due to variation in how young people are identified and tracked through local authority management information.
